Since childhood, I have been driven by a simple idea: I wanted my life’s work to ease the suffering of others. Medicine became the natural expression of that impulse. It sits at the intersection of my passion for science, my need for constant intellectual challenge in an ever‑changing field, and my belief that service to others gives work its deepest meaning. I see medicine as a noble profession, one that demands honesty and integrity, and offers the profound privilege of entering people’s lives at their most vulnerable moments. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing that our knowledge and compassion can alter the course of a patient’s life—and their family’s life—for the better.
Throughout my career, I have cared for a wide range of patients, and each has taught me something about resilience, humility, and the human condition. Over time, many of these relationships have grown into lasting bonds; my patients often feel like an extension of my own family. They worry about me, celebrate my milestones, and trust me with theirs. That mutual trust and affection is, to me, what makes this profession so extraordinary.
My guiding principle is simple: I strive to provide the level of care I would want for myself or for someone I love. That standard anchors every decision I make at the bedside, from seeking out the best available evidence to advocating for the most appropriate treatment options. It pushes me to keep learning, to refine my skills, and to never lose sight of the person behind the diagnosis.
