Dr. Magdalena Sikora, MD

For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted a career that involves helping and caring for people. Combined with my love for science, I felt a medical degree was perfect for me. Medicine, but particularly nephrology and dialysis, is a profession that gives me the opportunity to restore others with empathy and dedication while thinking critically and learning continuously.

I am passionate about people and enjoy empowering them to make the best health-related decisions, but not making decisions for them.

I keep reminding myself and patients that we are building long-term relationships. Once someone becomes a "kidney patient," it is for life and it is life-changing. But I am always going to be there to offer what is best for them with my knowledge and expertise.

The experience of working in Lawton since graduation has shown me the importance of caring not only for the emotional and physical needs of patients, but also for their families as well as the community in order to facilitate the recovery of every patient to a fulfilling life.

Board Certification: Nephrology, Internal Medicine
