I chose a career in medicine because I wanted to help people in a meaningful way— by truly listening to them, helping them understand their medical situation, and providing care that not only treats their condition but also helps them feel supported and reassured.

One of my favorite parts of practicing medicine is having the opportunity to sit down with patients — whether in the hospital or clinic — and talk through what they are experiencing. I take pride in clear, compassionate communication and always hope my patients leave our visit feeling more informed and less anxious about their health.

I believe in treating every patient as a whole person, not just a diagnosis. That means recognizing the complexity of each individual — their medical conditions, emotions, and personal circumstances — and caring for them with empathy and understanding. In nephrology and internal medicine, whether we are discussing kidney function, blood pressure, dialysis, or electrolyte balance, my goal is to explain things in a way that is easy to understand and to partner with my patients in their care. I was drawn to this field because of the challenge and privilege of caring for people in all their complexity. This continues to inspire the way I practice medicine every day.
