For as long as I remember, I have always wanted career that involves helping and caring for people. Combined with my love for science I felt medical degree was perfect for me. Medicine but particularly nephrology and dialysis is a profession that gives me opportunity to restore other with empathy, dedication while thinking critically and learning continuously.
I am passionate about people, enjoy empowering them make best health related decisions, but not to make decisions for them.
I kept reminding myself and patients that we are building long-term relationships. Once someone becomes “kidney patient” it is for life and it is life changing. But I am always going to be there to offer what is the best for them with my knowledge and expertise.
The experience of working in Lawton since graduation has shown me the importance of caring not only for emotional and physical needs of patients but also their families as well as community in order to facilitate the recovery of every patient to fulfilling life.
