During high school, my grandmother was seriously ill, and for one year I observed her unsuccessful battle against stroke with paralysis. I learned that providing preventive care could have prolonged her life. I decided to join this profession to help people access education and resources needed to live a healthy life.
As a nephrologist, I get to maintain a long-term relationship with my patients. It is a great pleasure to help people take care of their kidneys and prevent dialysis. Managing patients on dialysis involves both physical and emotional wellbeing, and I become part of their family and support them through their journey.
My philosophy of care is to provide knowledge to prevent the advancement of kidney disease and prolong life.
